The last of the early summer days

Thinking about going to Skagen. Thinking about the Skagen painter P.S. Kroyer and his beautiful wife Marie. And his faithful dog named Rap. Where is Rap by the way? Too few knitted pink pigs in art!

The knitted pink pig search party at Skagen. Nor is Rap the dog anywhere in sight...

 Nothing but blue skies

But someone found this photo in a Nordic Attic

The French connection

Symbolic street scene 1898 Marie Luplau (1848-1925)

Danish female painter Marie Luplau went to Paris 1882-84 and studied at the Colarossi Academy. At that time women were not allowed to attend the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Together with her partner, painter Emilie Mundt, she formed an artschool for women.

Hercule entre le Vice et la Vertue - Gustave Moreau (1826-1898)

After having seen the ML beach scenery below, I happened to come across this painting in Paris, at the beautiful Gustave Moreau Museum
